EVIDENCE INFORMED POLICY AND PRACTICE IN EDUCATION IN EUROPE (EIPEE)

Project aims

Over the last few years there has been a growing interest in the use of research
evidence in policymaking in education in Europe. The EC has funded the EIPEE project
to provide more information about the current situation on this topic in Europe to
inform further work by the EC in this area. The project aims are to identify:

The range of activities (both formal and informal) that are used across Europe for
linking research and policymaking in education;
Any studies that have examined the link between research and policymaking in
education in Europe.

The project will publish a report and database containing much needed information
on the ways that policymaking in education has, is and will benefit from greater links
with research evidence across Europe. This will provide useful sources of information
for individual countries within Europe and for the future strategies of the EC.
